The Central Laboratory for Pesticide Residues (Q-CAP) has completed the organization of the training program (Quality Management System in Testing Laboratories according to ISO/IEC 17025:2017)

Within the framework of the interest of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and the Agricultural Research Center in cooperation with entities working in the same field from the governmental and private sectors and scientific and research entities to transfer and exchange experiences and support other entities, Dr. Hind Abdel-Latif, Director of the Central Laboratory for Pesticide Residues and Heavy Elements in Food, announced that the laboratory has completed the organization of the training program (Quality Management System in Testing Laboratories according to ISO/IEC 17025:2017) in which more than 11 trainees from different entities from the private and governmental sectors and universities participated. The training activities continued for 3 days during which training was provided on international standards for accrediting testing laboratories and international recognition bodies, the importance of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and accreditation requirements, management requirements according to ISO ISO/IEC 17025:2017, technical requirements according to ISO/IEC 17025:2017, accreditation procedures and evaluation methods, documents required according to ISO/IEC 17025:201. The training was conducted according to the latest training methods in terms of practical application of training by dividing the trainees and implementing a case study for each group and conducting a practical simulation of some points in order to train the trainees practically.
Abdellah gave a presentation on the most important services provided by the laboratory from analyzing pollutants in food and the environment, training and technical consultations and the role of the laboratory in the food safety system in Egypt and its impact on increasing Egyptian agricultural exports and opening new markets.
The trainees also inspected the various laboratory departments to see the different analysis methods in the laboratory departments and see the latest devices and their uses on the first day of training.
It is worth noting that the training center affiliated with the Central Laboratory for Pesticide Residue Analysis obtained the ISO in the ISO 9001:2015 certificates for the quality management system and ISO 21001:2018 for the quality management of educational facilities.
